Job Description:

Starting February 4th, we require 4 physically fit people for 6 months of work on a banana plantation.

Duties will include:

• Performing general labouring duties
• Fruit picking
• Performing a range of maintenance tasks on the farm
• Banana humping

This work is hard and physically demanding. Banana humping is typically completed by people working in teams of two, to ensure the bunches of bananas are removed without being damaged. This involves reaching above your head to cut banana bunches or catching banana bunches of up 80kg. Bunches are then stacked for transportation to the packing area/shed.

The jobs will involve standing on your feet for a long period of time while working in hot to warm conditions with temperatures ranging from 21 to 31 degrees celsius (it is the dry season so the humidity will be low). Candidates need to be in good physical condition to do this work.

Pay rate is $23.66/hour and staff average 40 hours per week.
